It's hard to keep a perfect record, but when it comes to being injury-free, the Earth City, Missouri, Logistics team has done just that for more than six years. They haven't experienced a single OSHA recordable accident since February 2012, at the warehouse or among their drivers who make thousands of deliveries a year.
In April, Earth City employees were honored for this significant achievement during a dinner at a local restaurant. "We all work together to keep each other safe," said Warehouse Manager Doug Owenby during awards ceremony. "This recognition is because of your continued efforts to remember the importance of going home in the same condition you came to work."
The "Stop and T.H.I.N.K." slogan is an important concept in our Logistics Safety Program and the Earth City team really takes it to heart," said Senior Safety Specialists Daniel Miramontes. The T.H.I.N.K. acronym stands for:
- Train yourself to look for the hazard
- Hone your understanding of the job/task & potential hazards
- Identify potential threats or hazards
- Never sacrifice safety for speed
- Keep others safe from potential hazards
"This is a big achievement, and the entire Earth City team should be proud of our safety record," said Regional Operations Manager Jim Rapata. "Thank you for keeping each other out of harm's way."
Congratulations to the Earth City team as well as the following Flooring North America Logistics locations that have been injury-free five or more years:
